Adequate funding is one of the challenges faced by every school-based arts program. Teachers often spend inordinate amounts of time engaged in various fundraising activities – time that should be spent in instructional activities, rehearsal, and professional development.

 

It is one of the goals of the SWMEA to lighten that burden. This is a new effort of a new organization, yet it is a priority to explore new sources of funding for arts programs – sources that may be accessed by a single school or district but might be achieveable by an organization working on behalf of 10,000 students.
