California State Band Championships (CSBC)

The California State Band Championships is the events arm of the Southwest Music Education Association. Through sanctioning 30+ field band contests annually, as well as sponsoring the CSBC Semifinals, Division Finals and Open Class Finals contests, CSBC serves over 135 bands and 10,000 students annually.

Southwest Judges Network (SWJN)

In order to provide a high level of consistent evaluation and adjudication, the Southwest Judges Network, a subsidiary of the SWMEA, was created. Utilizing the best judges form throughout the region, the SWJN provides education and training opportunities for new and experienced adjudicators of the musical arts. West Coast Winter Guard (WCWG)

As of September 2022, the California State Band Championships is proud to announce our newly formed partnership with West Coast Winter Guard (WCWG). Established in May of 2015, WCWG has been providing winter guard competitions throughout southern California. Built on a community-based approach, WCWG keeps performers at the heart of every decision and focuses on creating an exceptional performer experience.We believe this new partnership helps round out our portfolio of offerings for Band Directors, Performers, Instructors, and Parents and it will pave the way for a combined indoor experience in the future, offering indoor winds, percussion, and winter guard competitions at a single event. We are excited to have the current WCWG Board of Directors joining us and believe this will continue to strengthen the CSBC experience.
